From "Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development" to "Bureau of Housing and Urban Renewal": I

Recently, the bureaus of housing and urban-rural development in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan and many places in Hubei have been renamed as "bureaus of housing and urban renewal". The change from "urban-rural development" to "urban renewal" reflects a systematic shift in urban development logic, government governance philosophy and the focus of livelihood services, indicating that Chinese cities have entered a new stage of high-quality development featuring intensive cultivation and internal quality improvement.

The outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan clearly puts forward: "Promote high-quality urban renewal, conduct urban physical examinations, accelerate the construction of complete communities, and improve the implementation mechanism of urban renewal".
